History: There are lots of history to these plants. The former owner of the house brought them to the site when the home was built in 1948. They’ve been here in some form ever since.
Care: In general, I haven’t done much with these plants. I try to cut them back in the late fall after the stalks turn dark. They probably need to be thinned along the fence; they tend to overrun other plants back there.
