North side yard

There isn’t much in the beds on this side of the house and that’s fine. All that’s required here is a little foliage that won’t need a lot of maintenance.

Ferns (they continue to multiply, which is fine)

Hosta (1 transplanted; 3 new plants)

South side yard

This area needed a lot of work. It was overgrown with odd weeds, but had a couple plants worth saving. I removed the ivy along the fence (much of which was killed during the 2013-14 winter) and added 13 plants spring ’14.

Iris (6-8 yellow stems)

Hosta (1 transplanted)

Pardon Me Day Lilly (3)

Stella D’Oro Day Lilly (3)

Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’ (2 groupings)

Pinks Fire Star (6)

2015: I’m wondering if the area on the south side of the walk needs some fertilizer or if I should have the soil analyzed. Janet planted some other flowers in there in the spring and they don’t look like they’re going to survive there, either. I wonder if the ivy did something to the soil there.

Formerly planted
